About Me

AlexandraKellerI’ll attempt to make this minimally cheesy and not too wordy, but admittedly I’m a little bit of both.:-)

My photography journey began much like many others’. In 2010, I was a new mama with a fresh obsession – capturing every fleeting detail of my daughter’s infancy. A bit of a spark was ignited within me, and I dedicated my increasingly rare free moments to absorbing and seeking out as much knowledge of photography as possible. Over time I came to realize that a dream had blossomed in my heart – taking the giant leap towards starting my own business. So Alexandra Keller Photography was born! I’m happiest when I’m creating, and every session offers a unique opportunity to harness my passion. My clients become friends, and laughter and general ridiculousness have become a requisite part of each session. I’m the messiest neat freak, utterly embarrassing, and hopelessly frilly. I love flan, have a weakness for home decor, and beat cancer. I’m a firm believer that naps can fix most problems. And sometimes I fall down (a lot).

I live in Thousand Oaks with my husband and two girls, though I regularly shoot on location throughout Southern California. I’d love to chat with you about planning your dream photo session, so shoot me a line at, and we’ll get to yapping.:-)

Natalie - Hello, my name is Natalie, I came across your website through pinterest. I saw a really beautiful picture of a newborn baby girl, so I started looking into your website to seek ideas, since I’m 34 wks pregnant with my first baby girl. I read your story, I just wanted to say you’re a brave women, I’m sure you probably hear this often, but maybe not, and its nice to hear encouraging words time to time! Your daughter is one lucky child to have a brave and humble mommy! Good luck with everything and continue being positive and taking amazing pictures!

    Sincerely, NatalieReplyCancel

lori shaffer - i also came across your work on pinterest. your work is amazing. the picture i was looking at was your pullback for newborn photography. i read that you use natural light and a d700. (i do too). could i ask one more question? when shooting newborns with their parents, it looks like you have a gray backdrop, what kind is it? and did you shoot those with natural light too? thanks.

i live in pittsburgh, pennsylvania and the weather is horrible. not many sunny days like in california and it seems many times i struggle to find enough natural light indoors.ReplyCancel
