TELLING STORIES OF

LOVE

Bottega Louie – Los Angeles

Last weekend my adoring hubby decided to whisk me off to a charming french cafe to express to me his utter delight and appreciation for my presence in his life.

Fine, fine. I dragged him out to downtown L.A. to scour the fashion district for newborn props. After a few hours he was ravenous and I remembered a charming restaurant that I had been meaning to explore. See, the restaurant’s still charming and thus I will stick to story #1 for now. We had a fabulous lunch/early dinner (“dunch”) at Bottega Louie, and picked up some macaroons to take home because the box was pretty (I’m a sucker for gorgeous packaging), and because they were pretty. And I like to eat pretty things too you know.

I couldn’t inhale these without taking a few shots of them first, so here’re the macaroons in all their glory.

I must add that their French Onion soup is just blissful. I’m on a perpetual mission to find the best French Onion soup in life, and have 2 favorites, both utterly inaccessible to me. 1 – Ruth’s Chris, which has decided to take it OFF their menu (!!) and 2 – Lahaina Grill, which is on Maui. If you know of anyplace in Southern California with amazing FOS, please, pretty please let me know of it! 🙂
